Stem Cell Injections

The Team at Advanced Foot and Ankle Center are pleased to announce a new innovative treatment option for joint and tendon injuries, Stem Cell Injection Therapy.

This new technology has produced promising results for those patients suffering from joint and tendon injuries that have been unresponsive to traditional treatment, such as physical therapy, steroid injections etc. It is also a good option for those patients whose only alternative option is surgery. We have used Stem Cell Therapy in conjunction with surgical repair of the Foot and Ankle to optimize healing and repair.

What is Amnio Fix? (our product)

Amnio Fix is an all natural product derived from the innermost layer of the placenta which lines the amniotic cavity. It is processed through the proprietary Purion process that combines cleaning, dehydration and sterilization. This product is available in injectable form and sheet membrane which affords surgeons a wide availability of applications.

How do Stem Cell Injections work?

Soft tissue injuries are often caused by overuse and micro-tearing ot the tissue. This leads to an inflammatory process within the tissue that impedes healing. Amnio Fix is comprised of growth factors which are powerful agents of healing. Growth factors stimulate cellular growth, migration and differentiation which leads to helping local cells heal damaged tissue. Stem Cell Treatments are performed in the office under local anesthesia without significant pain or discomfort.

Are Stem Cell Treatments safe?

Amniotic tissue has been used for years to treat injuries and wounds and are considered very safe. All of the Amniotic tissue in Amnio Fix is donated by healthy consenting mothers undergoing C-sections. Amniotic membrane is the sac surrounding the baby and is typically discarded after the baby is born. The recovery of the membrane does not affect the baby or delivery process and therefore the donation process does not apply to the ethical concerns associated with embryonic tissue. The amniotic membrane then goes through a validated patented Purion process to thoroughly clean and preserve the tissue.
